Is Religion Incompatible with LOA?

The power of LOA Compels you!

But recently, he’s been inspired to go back to his religion. How can he reconcile his religious beliefs with what he’s learned about reality creation and empowerment? Is all religion inherently disempowering, or is it just another avenue for us to step into the light?

Coaching Call #362 is out today! The topic of this week’s call is – How Can She Attract The Abundance She Wants?

This caller feels stuck in both her job and her finances. She wants to create the type of wealth that allows her to be open, fun and free. She’s tried raising her energy around these subjects but her energy just feels blocked. Her current job is meaningless to her and she doesn’t like being there, but she also hates the idea of going for job interviews. Outside of her meaningless job, she’s an artist, but she hasn’t aligned her energy with this being a career where she could make a very good living.

What is causing her energy blocks around money and her job? If she’s an artist why is she still doing a crappy job that is meaningless to her? Why is she keeping herself small and not aligning her energy with wealth and abundance? When she opens up her energy and aligns herself with what she wants, how will her reality change?

If you want to create more wealth and more abundance in your reality, this call is for you.

Hey, my happy shiny puppies, this is Melody Fletcher, your go-to for everything Law of Attraction and Reality Creation. And today, I’ve got a treat for you! What follows is an excerpt from one of our live Q&A calls, where people just like you, students just like you, were able to ask me questions, and I answered them. And today, you’re going to get one of those. And, as you’ll see in the coming weeks, we’re going to be rolling out more and more of these.

And, If you’d like the chance to be a part of one of these Q&A calls, for free, then stay until the end of the video, and I’m going to tell you exactly how to do that.

Alright, I’ll see you on the other side!

Caller – So, I wrote out my question. I’ve been releasing some trauma around childhood and a lot of it happened around my bar mitzvah. And now I’ve kind of been inspired to return to Judaism. Like I’m going to temple again, and I’m even going to Israel next month.

Melody – Yay!!

Caller – And, yeah, that’s really exciting. But, a lot of the times it doesn’t resonate with me, like the bible doesn’t resonate with me; the chosen people don’t. But, there’s a lot of comfort in it, and I’m wondering, what causes this inspiration to go back to it. And, how do I reconcile traditional religion with Law of Attraction?

Melody – Ok! Great question, David! Thank you.

Caller – Thanks!!

Melody – So, we want to stop demonizing religion, because a lot of shit has been done in the name of religion.

Caller – Yeah!

Melody – No matter what religion we’re talking about. Shit’s been done in the name of it. But, that’s kind of like demonizing God because a lot of shit’s been done in his name, by humans, not by God. But that doesn’t mean that there is not some truth in all religions, especially the religions that have lasted for a long time. There is a reason for that.

And Judaism has been around for a long time, Christianity has been around for a long time. Buddhism and Islam have around for a long time. And there’s no way they would have prevailed for so long, and given a lot of people hope and help. Let’s not forgot about all the hope and help that religion has the ability to give people.

Caller – Yeah! That’s what I kind of get from it too!

Melody – And so, that would not have prevailed that long, nor given so much benefit to the world, if there was not something in there that was really, really valid.

Caller – Hmmm!

Melody – And so, what you want to do is give yourself permission to be discerning; to pick and choose.

Caller – Ok!

Melody – To pick and choose the elements that really resonate with you, and leave the ones that don’t. So if somebody says, “Well, God hates this!” And, you’re like, “God doesn’t hate anybody! What the hell are you talking about?” Then, you just leave that. You’re just like, “Ok, I don’t need to believe that. I believe that, you know?” And this can also – religion can help you really solidify your own beliefs if you’re willing to be discerning, and you give yourself permission to take what works for you, and not take what doesn’t work for you. Which a lot of people don’t, they think its dogma. You have to buy into the whole thing, or not at all. And then, if you buy into the whole thing, well, you’d better hold true to all that stuff whether it makes sense to you or not.

You don’t have to do that. You can give yourself permission to let people trigger you. Figure out – “Oh, I don’t like that. Well, what do I like? Oh, I don’t believe that; well, what do I believe?” And, you let it challenge you to sort of discover your own truth.

Caller – That makes sense. Kabbalah actually has a lot of, like thoughts turn to things type stuff, and I really, that obviously resonates with me.

Melody – Yeah!

Caller – That’s rabbit-hole stuff.

Melody – I don’t think Law of Attraction is incompatible at all with spirituality, with a belief in God, with even the basic tenets of every religion out there. What Law of Attraction is not compatible with is dogma, fundamentalism, not thinking or feeling for yourself, outsourcing your authority. That’s what Law of Attraction is not compatible with. But, the basic tenets of every religion, love, peace – yeah!

And you have to understand there is a lot of teaching that got taken out. And, most of that teaching that got taken out, or didn’t get included, that was there, was about all of this Law of Attraction-y kind of stuff. They’re figuring that out now, they’re finding all that old information.

Caller – And then, how do I, kind of reconcile, like worship? Like worshipping God, when Law of Attraction says we are God? Do we worship ourselves? I guess that’s where I get…

Melody – Well, I don’t love the word worship.

Caller – Yeah, me neither.

Melody – Because worship tends to have the connotation – and if somebody uses it differently, please be my guest. But it tends to have the connotation of – you are up here; I am down here. You are great, I am shit.

Caller – Hehe!

Melody – And, I must worship you on my knees, you great, powerful being, as I am the cockroach at your feet. I am unworthy of you even looking at me. A lot of worship; and I’m kind of, maybe, exaggerating a little bit. Possibly, probably not, depending on the person we’re talking about – but it’s not an empowering stance to usually worship somebody else. Depending on how you use the word.

I like the word, celebrate.

Caller – Oh!

Melody – You can celebrate God. You can celebrate divinity in every person you meet. You can celebrate the divinity in you. You can celebrate God in nature. You can celebrate God in the synagogue; you can celebrate God wherever you are. Now it’s not worshipping.

Caller – Hmmm!

Melody – Now it’s appreciating. Celebrating and acknowledging, which is a really great vibe to be in.

Caller – And, do you have any insight – I mean, you can make it more general for everyone. Why, when it’s had been like over a decade since I went to temple, and then suddenly a slow transition back, where does that kind of come from. Is that evolution?

Melody – It is evolution, and usually what happens is – I went through something similar, I didn’t go back to Catholicism, but I found my way to spirituality. Yeah?

Caller – Hmmm!

Melody – Because I was – I grew up Catholic, and not just peripherally Catholic, I went to school with nuns and shit.

Caller – Oh, ok!

Melody – Right! It’s like, if you went to Hebrew school all your life, like that. Right?

Caller – Ok!

Melody – And then, when I was a teenager, became an atheist; I went the other way. There’s no – God doesn’t exist, this is bullshit; it’s all bullshit. It never made sense to me in the first place. “God loves you, but don’t fuck up because he’ll hate you forever!!”

Caller – Hehe!

Melody – I’m like, “God sounds like a psychopath!” – “No, that’s blasphemy!” – “Really??” Yeah? So, I rejected all of it; rejected ALL of it. Baby and bath water – out. Right? And then, I had to come to the realization that, that didn’t sit well with me either. That didn’t quite feel right. And so, I had to come back to spirituality, eventually God. The word Lord used to trigger me heavily, because the people who used the word Lord where usually real Jesus freaks, and closed-minded. I even got to the point where – I don’t care. You can say, Lord, Jesus Christ; whatever, Savior, doesn’t trigger me anymore.

But I had to get to that point of being there, going all the way away from it, and then coming back to find the pieces that worked for me.

Caller – Got it!

Melody – And, leaving all the rest that didn’t work for me. And, I think, that’s what you’ve done here. You were indoctrinated into it, you left, and went: No, reject, reject, reject! And now, you’re finding your way back, but only – on your terms. On your terms; not theirs!

Caller – Got it! That makes a lot of sense. It’s very affirming, thank you.

Melody – Good! Good. Thank you so much, David, thanks for playing.

Caller – Thanks, for you. Thanks to you; bye-bye.

This was really helpful for me. I love the idea of “celebrating” God rather than focusing on “worship.” It has a totally different feel to me, one that is much more positive and loving. Thanks, Melody and David!
