I’ve been working at this Law of Attraction stuff for quite some time. Even before I knew what LOA was, I was learning about the power of our thoughts and how we can control our emotions. And it’s led to some spectacular results. Most of the time I’m happy, sometimes content, sometimes ecstatic. I’m rarely anywhere south of frustration, but it does happen from time to time, and when it does, I have several ways in which I can work my way out of it. One of those ways is to use music to deliberately make myself feel better.
I’ve always loved music. My parents must have suspected that I would – they named me Melody, after all :). But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I became really conscious of the fact that music could have a profound effect on me, and that I could use this effect to deliberately change the way I feel.
We know that a high note can shatter glass. Standing too close to the speakers at a rock concert can permanently damage your hearing. Sound waves have even been used to treat cancer. The energy of music can certainly affect our physical reality.
Since everything is energy, including us, and our emotions are nothing more than indicators of the frequencies we’re carrying within us, it stands to reason that sound waves have the power to change the frequencies within us, therefore changing our emotions. If you place a glass of water on or near a speaker, you can see the effect that sound waves have on the water. It’ll ripple and given the right frequency, it will even dance. When you hear music, it has the potential to affect your vibration, your frequency, in the same way. (Don’t try this at home BTW, I don’t want to get letters about flooded speakers. Just google speaker +water +experiment and watch others prove my point.)
So, which songs will make you feel better? Well, different songs have different frequencies, and since we each do as well, it takes some trial and error to figure it out. Some people are highly sensitive to music and are easily influenced by sound waves, while others may have to hunt down the music that will cause a reaction within them.
An interesting thing I’ve noticed is that as I’ve raised my vibration, the effect that certain types of music has on me has changed. Live string orchestras used to make me cry. Something about the specific vibrations of live violins caused such a shift in me that energy had to be released. That no longer happens. Songs that used to take me to a different place the second they came on, no longer have an effect on me at all. I tend to focus on specific songs instead of types of music. The right song can instantly lift my mood, while another may instantly irritate me (who hasn’t experienced that?)
With this in mind, I’ve put together several playlists that help me to lift my mood, get enthusiastic about something, or put me into an ecstatic, bouncing off the wall state. When I’m not feeling quite myself, when I’ve let outside forces affect me vibrationally (happens to the best of us), I can deliberately make myself feel better my choosing to play one of these collections. As long as I’m sure to update the playlists regularly – as my vibration changes, so must the music – it’s a quick and simple way to instantly change my mood.
